The Sixers' Ben Simmons meets with team-recommended mental-health specialist

Nov. 9—Ben Simmons has met a 76ers-recommended specialist to discuss his mental issues, a source has confirmed.
This comes after Simmons had previously been unwilling to meet with the Sixers' doctors to discuss his mental readiness.

Back then, Maxey received inconsistent minutes as the 76ers' reserve combo guard. So he made a habit of working out at the Sixers practice facility on off days. The second-year veteran is now the starting point guard, logging a team-leading 34.7 minutes per game.
