Aug. 14—NASHUA — Greater Nashua Mental Health and St. Joseph Hospital of Nashua have entered into a professional relationship to provide behavioral health services to St. Joseph Hospital pediatrics patients.

"Having just launched our Senior Behavioral Health Unit earlier this year to provide inpatient behavioral health supports for older adults, we knew our work in caring for our most vulnerable patients wasn't complete," said St. Joseph Hospital president John A. Jurczyk. "The past 18 months have been especially difficult on the youngest members of our community, and by partnering with Greater Nashua Mental Health, we are thrilled to offer behavioral health consultations to our pediatric patients from within our primary pediatric practice."

This agreement, while still in its early stages of implementation, will ultimately allow behavioral health clinicians from GNMH to work alongside SJH Pediatrics providers across their three practice locations in Nashua and Milford.

GNMH Behavioral Health professionals will be available in each practice to provide a mix of services and supports to both St. Joseph Hospital Pediatrics providers as well as their patients, including:

1. Medication management.

2. Care management to help identify appropriate behavioral health and community support services.

3. Psychiatrist consultations.

"Both St. Joseph Hospital and Greater Nashua Mental Health have a long history of caring for our community," said Dr. Cynthia Whitaker, president and CEO of GNMH. "We hear time and time again how difficult it can be for parents to find this type of care for their children, and this partnership will help to break down some of those barriers. We believe that everyone in our community deserves access to behavioral health care."
