'Love Thy Neighbor': local woman brings attention to mental health awareness

"Love Thy Neighbor" is a local event put together by Shuntell March to bring awareness to grief, a part of mental illness that she deems to be mostly forgotten.

March wanted to take her experience with grief, and gratitude for those who showed her such love during her time of grief and create a community event.

"Love Thy Neighbor" is a water ballon "fight".

"Some of you may know that in 2018 I lost several people in my life. I completely shut myself down from people. Only a few truly knew the pain I was going through. I went to therapy and I prayed every night. I'm so thankful, I had a strong support system that allowed me to mourn and not fall into a depression."

"The one thing I can remember is how my neighbors showed so much love to my family that week when the pain was fresh."

"Grief is not something you can heal from over night. We need continuous love from our neighbors (days, weeks, months, and years) later. " So I decided to host a water fight. We will pay tribute to our loved ones by releasing balloons with messages inside the balloons and then release our tears by throwing water balloons. The water balloons will symbolize our tears. So please join me and letting the community know that you do not have to mourn alone. Let's come together and honor our loved ones with "Love". Please spread the word??
