My name is Jaime. I'm a senior at Nebraska Wesleyan University and I'm working on a photography project for my Senior gallery exhibition in May. The photography series will feature women who have experienced abusive relationships. Being a survivor of domestic violence has inspired me to pursue the project which will work to raise awareness against domestic violence and document the hardships that women face when leaving abusive partners while also showcasing their resilience. I've contacted the Friendship Home and Voices of Hope, both of which have communicated that my project would not be appropriate to pursue at their facilities given concerns with confidentiality and privacy of their clients. Therefore, I'm facing some obstacles in finding subjects and situations to photograph. I was hoping that someone might have some resources or suggestions of how I could get in touch with women that would be willing to participate in the project. Please let me know if you can be of any help. Thanks, Jaime
