NORTH CENTRAL AREA AGENCY ON AGING: Volunteer Services information provided by: United Way of Connecticut

Volunteers are trained to work as CHOICES counselors. Also, Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) volunteers are trained to present information on Medicare/Medicaid fraud and abuse to older adults, at health fairs, senior centers, elderly housing complexes and other popular gathering places. Volunteers can also be trained to lead evidence based chronic disease (Live Well Program) or diabetes self-management programs in the community.
