Medicaid program provides medical insurance for very low income adults who do not have dependent children and who are not disabled. (NOTE: Adults who have high medical bills but who are over income for Medicaid can use medical bills to "spend down" income to the "medically needy income limit" and be eligible for Medicaid.)

Eligibility Requirements:
* Ages 19-64 and not receiving SSI or Medicare, and not pregnant. *Income limit: at or below the "medically needy income limit;" depends upon where the individual lives: AREA A TOWNS: $617.44/month for one person and $833.68 for couple; AREA B and C TOWNS: $508.48 for one person and $686.56 for a couple. * Up to $150 per month of earned income is NOT COUNTED. * There is no asset limit. * Must be U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status for at least 5 years..
