Lifeline program is a peer counseling telephone support network that pairs survivor families with those who are newly diagnosed by diagnosis and age of child. It gives family members an opportunity to talk to someone who understands, creating an immediate sense of community and shared experience. The Lifeline program does not provide medical care, medical treatment, medical advice or psychotherapy or interfere with the doctor/patient relationship. It is offered at no charge to families, caretakers, and friends of children currently being treated for cancer.
