ARC OF THE FARMINGTON VALLEY, THE: Independence Academy/Inspirational Arts/Theatre Program/Hiking Club information provided by: United Way of Connecticut

Arts instruction and recreational programs for adults ages 18+ with developmental disabilities. Independence Academy uses creative arts approach to build independent skills around themes of nutrition and fitness, community safety, and fun. Inspirational Arts program provides instruction to individuals of all artistic abilities using various mediums such as pencil, paint, ink, sculpture and multi-media collage. Endless Possibilities Theatre Program is for individuals of all abilities. Summit Hiking Club offers hikes through Connecticut parks and trails once a month. In addition, there is a monthly calendar of 5-7 planned community activities distributed by mailing list. Activities vary by location, group size and fee.
