BRIEF: Woman with mental illness found after vanishing from Berkeley home

Aug. 27--BERKELEY -- Police canceled a missing person advisory for a 70-year-old woman who had vanished from her home.

The woman, 70, was reported missing last Thursday and police believed she had left a home in Berkeley on foot.

The woman has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and dementia, Berkeley police said. They issued an alert because of her medical conditions.

Police canceled the alert on Monday and said she had been found. They did not release other details.
