Police handle mental health issue near Fairview Elementary School

Oct. 18--Fairview Twp. police responded to a mental health issue on Bluestone Avenue late Thursday morning.

Crestwood School District Superintendent Robert Mehalick said police handled the incident before there was any need to lock down any of the district's schools or take other measures.

"No kids, no staff was in harm's way," Mehalick said.

Fairview Elementary School is a drive of approximately one mile from Bluestone Avenue.
