Feb. 09--ALBANY -- Phoebe Behavioral Health announced on Friday that it is expanding its services to include individual therapy services for children, adolescents and adults.

"The need in our community for more mental health services, especially for children, is dire," Phoebe Behavioral Health Manager Lisa Schexnayder said. "By expanding our outpatient services to include individual therapy, we hope to help more of our community members receive the services needed. We are now able to offer more than just group sessions and medication management for our patients."

Licensed clinical social workers Tequilla Pittman and Ursula Wright recently joined Phoebe Behavioral Health, bringing more than 20 years of combined experience working with all populations. Phoebe Behavioral Health's outpatient services currently include group therapy and medication management, but with the addition of Pittman and Wright, it will now offer individual child, adolescent and adult therapy services.

In 2017, 720 residents in Dougherty County visited an emergency room due to mental or behavioral health disorders, data from the Georgia Department of Public Health Office of Health Indicators for Planning show.

The team at Phoebe Behavioral Health includes physicians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses and therapists. To make an appointment with any of Phoebe's Behavioral Health providers, call (229) 312-7001.
